Biography

Sombo Seember Shukura was born on November 4th, 1981 to the family of Dr Augustine Aundu Pue and Mrs Stella Shimem Pue. She is married to Dr John Terver Sombo, from Vandeikya Local Government Area of Benue State; the marriage is blessed with three children.
She is a lecturer with the Federal University of Agriculture, Makurdi in the Department of Home Science and Management (Textile Design), she teaches and supervises undergraduates.
She got her first degree from Federal University of Technology, Yola now known as Modibo Adama University of Tcehnology Yola (2008) and Masters from the University of Nigeria Nsukka (2015).
Seember has six years of teaching experience and two years of undergraduate project supervision. She has two (2) reputable publications. she was the Assistant examination officer from 2016 to 2018; Member, Departmental Examination Committee 2017 to date; Member Departmental Curriculum Review Committee for Undergraduate and Postgraduate Programmes June 2018; She is also Departmental Examination Officer, August 2018 and presently representative of college of Food Technology and Human Ecology on the Board of College of Forestry and Fisheries October 2018. She speaks three languages (Tiv, English and Hausa).See Details on the CV.

i) The application of extracted dye from Allium cepa (Red Onion Peels) on silk, wool and cotton
fabrics to determine wash fastness properties.
ii) Extraction and utilization of Avocado seed dye on cotton fabric dyeing.
iii)Assessment of colourcharacteristics of mixture of Natural dyes (Zobo, Henna, and Bitter leaf) used in dyeing cotton.
